Pembelajaran pada saat ini menekankan pada keaktifan peserta didik. Oleh karena itu, dosen harus menggunakan berbagai macam metode mengajar agar peserta didik dapat berperan secara aktif di dalam kelas sehingga mereka dapat memahami materi dengan mudah. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di IKIP-PGRI Pontianak dimana mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa inggris semester enam menjadi subjek penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh dari penerapan metode problem-based learning (PBL) didalam kelas seminar on ELT dan mengetahui persepsi tentang penggunaan metode PBL dari sudut pandang mahasiswa dan dosen. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam bentuk kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui interview, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan dan analisis menunjukkan bahwa penerapan metode PBL dalam kelas seminar on ELT membuat mahasiswa menjadi lebih aktif, mahasiswa memiliki motivasi yang tinggi dalam mengikuti pembelajaran, mahasiswa dapat meningkatkan kemampuan bekerjasama dan melatih pemikiran kritis dalam memecahkan suatu masalah.Downloads
