Analisis hubungan intensitas penggunaan gawai (screen time) dengan perkembangan sosial-emosional anak usia dini pada era digital

Era digital meningkatkan intensitas penggunaan gawai (screen time) pada anak usia dini, memunculkan kekhawatiran terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional mereka mengingat usia dini adalah periode emas yang menentukan kualitas interaksi sosial dan regulasi emosi di masa depan. Penelitian ini menganalisis hubungan intensitas penggunaan gawai dengan perkembangan sosial-emosional anak usia dini melalui studi literatur, menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif dengan penelusuran, seleksi, dan analisis artikel jurnal nasional dan internasional relevan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan gawai yang tinggi dan tidak terarah berhubungan dengan rendahnya kemampuan interaksi sosial, keterlambatan berbahasa, meningkatnya perilaku tantrum, kesulitan regulasi emosi, dan berkurangnya empati anak. Sebaliknya, penggunaan gawai dalam intensitas terbatas, terarah, dan didampingi orang tua (co-viewing) dapat memberikan manfaat edukatif tanpa mengganggu perkembangan sosial-emosional secara signifikan. Pola asuh, keterlibatan orang tua, jenis konten, dan durasi paparan turut menentukan arah hubungan tersebut. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pedoman durasi screen time sesuai usia, pendampingan aktif orang tua, serta penguatan literasi digital bagi keluarga dan pendidik PAUD.
