Abstract

The use of technology in science learning has become a strategic solution to overcome limited laboratory facilities and improve learning effectiveness. Four separate studies demonstrate the significant contribution of interactive media such as Live Worksheets and virtual laboratory simulations (PhET) in supporting teaching and learning activities. Results show that virtual laboratories are effective in reducing the risk of errors and workplace accidents and offer an alternative when facilities are limited. However, students' practical experience and hands-on skills are more optimal when using a real-world laboratory, making virtual labs more suitable as introductory (pre-lab) practicals.
