Analisis Pemahaman Konsep Siswa Dalam Menyelesaikan Soal Matematika Pada Materi Operasi Aljabar Di Kelas VII SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kubu Raya

This study aims to obtain a description of students' conceptual understanding in solving mathematical problems on algebraic operations in class VII of SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kubu Raya. The method used is descriptive, with a case study form. The subjects in this study were 27 students of class VII of SMP Kemala Bhayangkari 1 Kubu Raya. The instruments used were student conceptual understanding tests and interview guidelines. The results of this study are (1) high group students' conceptual understanding fulfills five indicators, namely, students can restate concepts, use, utilize and choose procedures, students can apply concepts or algorithms to solve problems and are able to provide examples of a concept and present various representations. (2) medium group students' conceptual understanding fulfills four indicators, namely, students are able to restate a concept, utilize, use and choose procedures, students are able to provide examples of a concept, and present various representations are still less precise. (3) low group students' conceptual understanding only fulfills three indicators, namely restating a concept, utilizing, using and choosing procedures, providing examples of a concept, in solving problems there are still mistakes and less precise in answering questions.
