Abstract

 

Mathematics is a universal scientific study accepted by all nations and religions. Its importance in life continues to evolve to meet the changing demands of society and individual needs. Almost every human activity involves aspects of mathematics, making it essential and continuously developing in response to human needs. Mathematics underpins scientific and technological progress and is used in various fields of science and everyday life, making it a crucial source of information. This paper aims to reveal the relationship between ethnomathematics and the traditional game of guli in Sambas Regency. The research was conducted using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach within a qualitative research framework, describing how the game is played, the benefits derived from it, and its relationship to mathematics. The results of the study show that there are elements of ethnomathematics in the game of guli, including the basic shape of guli, the flat playing area, the way the game is played from start to finish, and the character formation that results from playing guli. Based on the analysis conducted, it can be concluded that traditional games in Sambas Regency, particularly the game of guli, have benefits in mathematics education, known as ethnomathematics-based learning.
