PERAN BUDAYA SEBAGAI IDENTITAS NASIONAL DALAM KONTEKS MASYARAKAT LINTAS BATAS INDONESIA–MALAYSIA STUDI KOLABORATIF INDONESIA–UNIMAS

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik budaya masyarakat lintas batas Indonesia–Malaysia, mengkaji peran budaya dalam membentuk dan mempertahankan identitas nasional, mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penguatan dan perubahan identitas nasional, serta merumuskan model penguatan identitas nasional berbasis budaya lokal. Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui kerja sama antara Universitas PGRI Pontianak dan Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) dengan pendekatan Geografi Budaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa observasi, wawancara mendalam, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dokumentasi, dan studi literatur. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan model Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masyarakat lintas batas memiliki kesamaan bahasa, adat istiadat, sistem kekerabatan, tradisi, dan aktivitas sosial budaya yang diwariskan secara turun-temurun. Budaya berperan sebagai media pewarisan nilai kebangsaan dan penguat identitas kolektif. Penguatan identitas nasional dipengaruhi oleh globalisasi, mobilitas lintas batas, pendidikan, media digital, hubungan kekerabatan, kebijakan pemerintah, dan pelestarian budaya lokal. Penelitian ini menghasilkan model penguatan identitas nasional berbasis budaya lokal yang menempatkan budaya sebagai fondasi utama dalam membangun kesadaran kebangsaan masyarakat perbatasan.
