ANALISIS DAMPAK MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP PERILAKU PENYEBARAN HOAKS MAHASISWA: STUDI FENOMENOLOGI DI STKIP MELAWI

Penelitian ini menganalisis dampak media sosial terhadap perilaku penyebaran hoaks di kalangan 20 mahasiswa STKIP Melawi melalui pendekatan fenomenologi. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan tiga faktor utama: (1) rendahnya literasi digital (90% partisipan kesulitan membedakan hoaks), (2) faktor psikososial (75% partisipan mengaku malas verifikasi karena cognitive laziness), dan (3) pengaruh algoritma (80% partisipan terpapar echo chamber). Observasi partisipatif menunjukkan budaya share-first-verify-later didorong oleh tekanan sosial (68% kasus) dan keterbatasan infrastruktur digital (65% partisipan mengandalkan internet lambat). Temuan ini memperkuat teori uses and gratifications dengan menunjukkan bahwa motivasi validasi sosial (72% partisipan) menjadi pendorong utama penyebaran hoaks. Penelitian merekomendasikan integrasi kurikulum literasi digital berbasis studi kasus, pelatihan verifikasi informasi, dan kolaborasi dengan platform media sosial. Implikasinya, solusi efektif harus menggabungkan pendekatan teknologis, edukatif, dan psikososial untuk membangun ketahanan informasi di perguruan tinggi pedalaman.
