Peer Review Process
Edukasi: Jurnal Pendidikan implements a rigorous double-blind peer review process in which both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review cycle. This policy ensures objectivity, fairness, and high academic standards in evaluating manuscripts.
1. Preliminary Evaluation
Every submitted manuscript is first screened by the Editor-in-Chief and Managing Editor to ensure that it meets the journal’s focus and scope, author guidelines, and ethical publication standards. Manuscripts that fail to comply may be returned for correction or rejected before the peer review stage.
2. Reviewer Selection
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are assigned to at least two independent reviewers who are experts in the relevant discipline. Reviewer selection is based on their expertise, publication track record, and absence of any conflict of interest. All communications between authors and reviewers occur only through the editorial system to maintain confidentiality.
3. Review Process
The journal uses a double-blind review system, in which the identity of both authors and reviewers is concealed. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on the following key aspects:
- Originality and significance of the research contribution
- Relevance to the journal’s focus and scope
- Clarity of objectives, theoretical framework, and research design
- Soundness of data analysis, interpretation, and conclusion
- Use of appropriate and up-to-date references
- Organization, clarity, and scholarly writing style
4. Editorial Decision
After receiving the reviewers’ comments, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:
- Accept without revision – The manuscript is accepted as submitted.
- Minor revision – The manuscript is accepted after minor revisions recommended by the reviewers.
- Major revision – The manuscript requires substantial revisions and will be re-evaluated.
- Reject – The manuscript is not suitable for publication in this journal.
Authors are provided with constructive feedback and are required to submit a Response Letter detailing how each comment has been addressed.
5. Revision and Re-Submission
Revised manuscripts should be submitted within the specified deadline. The revised version may be sent back to the same reviewers for re-assessment. Failure to submit revisions on time may result in withdrawal from the review process.
6. Final Decision
The Editor-in-Chief makes the final publication decision based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript. The editorial decision is final.
7. Ethical Oversight
Edukasi: Jurnal Pendidikan follows the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All reviewers are expected to adhere to confidentiality, declare conflicts of interest, and avoid any form of bias or misconduct during the review process.
8. Post-Acceptance Process
Accepted manuscripts proceed to copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading to ensure consistency, clarity, and quality before publication. Authors are given a chance to review and approve the final proofs prior to publication.
